# About Me

Technology is something that speaks to me. I am a mostly self-taught professional analyst with experience consulting on various types of technology including hardware geared towards small businesses and enterprises. I am much more comfortable with the consumer side of tech though; the stuff that tinkerers and hackers love to mess with.

The Internet is something truly special in my heart even if the current state of it is in dire straits. I believe in a freedom of expression that allows us to express ourselves in creative ways that are not tied into a hatred of one's individuality or characters they were born with. Bigots and I generally do not get along at all, and I make my distaste of them readily apparent.

Since around 2001, I have been surfing around the Internet checking out what it has to offer. By 2004, I was already well-versed in Internet culture and was even a lurker in a lot of the net neutrality and open source communities that blossomed during that time. IRC was a connection point for me while Usenet was always a curiosity. Torrents were for creative acquisition while supporting independent artists crafting unique experiences into the world.

My goal with my online presence and platform is to craft something to protect those who need to be able to build pathways to protect themselves and those they love. I am unapologetically pro LGBTQIA+, a trans-ally, and am demi-sexual myself. I, to the extent I am capable of, understand the areas of my life built on privilege while also understanding the trauma I have experienced as being valid. I've learned that one can heal from that in beautiful ways when given the space I have been given to transform myself into the person I am today.

## Hobbies

**Music** has always been a major part of my life. It started with my discovery of bands like Tool and Finger Eleven (in its earliest days) that really spoke to how I felt and where I was in my life. It evolved with the discovery of Dance Dance Revolution and awakened a love for that soundtrack that drove me straight into the Beatmania IIDX catalogue (and everything attached to it). I am an 8 DAN for reference. At least in BMS.

**Rhythm Games** are an obsession for me. Pump It Up, Arcaea, and Sound Voltex are three games that have adjusted my taste in music. Beat Saber is the game that drives me right now while Taiko also speaks to me at a primal level. In 2027, I plan to build a more robust set up to play a lot of the community-driven plastic instrument games and maybe even dip my toes into something like Feedback. Maybe even EDM music production in the near future (hint hint). In Falsus is my current addiction.

**Creative Writing** is something I am starting to dive into head-first as a way to build myself creatively. I want to be able to **draw** better so I can get a better sense of how to craft worlds. Ultimately, I want to build up a set of skills that will allow me to dip my toes further into **game design and development**, but ultimately I want to be able to entertain people and make them laugh.

**Streaming** is something that has always been a fascination, but I am only just now finding the time to be able to do it in a more meaningful way. My Twitch channel is going to be focused at providing chill vibes with a community-driven approach to not just connect with the random people that stumble across it, but with other creators that want to build something beautiful. I want to develop myself into someone perfectly capable of coming into someone's stream and helping them build themselves up, knowing fully well that to do this I need to build myself up to some degree.

**My Infrastructure** is my way of building new skills in tech. I have a home lab that I mess around with quite often with Proxmox, OPNSense, and some other cool things. PostgreSQL is my preference for a RDBMS and VSCodium is what I use for my coding. I have a love for monospace fonts and being able to build things with Python. I have a goal to 100% self-host my services that can be self-hosted in the near future, but need a more solid upstream to be able to bring that to fruition. That's something I might be able to achieve in the near future (2027-2028).

## Philosophies

I'm a firm believer that most problems in the world come from fear and miscommunication. Humans are naturally afraid of what they cannot fathom or control. Our society has done some really great things, but is obviously capable of some really terrible things as well. Understanding our emotions and how to use them in a positive way is one of the best ways we can move society forward.

Bigotry is one of the greater evils of the world. Showing hate for the sake of hate is something I will never agree with. Those with that mindset will never be able to achieve anything meaningful and will hold everyone back from real meaningful improvement. We have a finite amount of time on this planet, and we owe it to future generations to figure our stuff out to keep everyone moving forward.

I aim to build spaces and opportunities for people who have a similar vision. My future, I believe, is going to be in not only building some amazing things myself, but working with people to bring those visions to life while also helping them build the skills and creativity they need to build their own. I want anyone I work with to come out of that even stronger than before. I want people to be able to surpass me in the things they are passionate about because passionate people are what move us all forward. And I feel anyone with empathy in their heart is capable of becoming passionate about something.
